Summary

Beginning on Page 94, the next section is "Day Four, Tuesday, June 7." The section opens from Alyssa's perspective. Alyssa wakes very early and discovers her parents are not home. She finds Kelton asleep on the couch and becomes angry when she sees his pistol on the table. Kelton points out that they may need protection. Alyssa gives in, but keeps the magazine in her own pocket. Alyssa, Garrett, and Kelton get on bikes and set out for the beach where they hope to find out what happened to her parents. They choose a route and soon see that the highway is jammed with cars, all at a complete standstill. Garrett has to use the bathroom so they stop at a convenience store.
