Remarkable Incident of Dr. Lanyon Summary

Though thousands of pounds are offered in reward for Mr. Hyde, the man proves to have completely disappeared. Despite the death of Sir Danvers Carew, Utterson can't help but feel relieved that the murder finally rid them of Hyde. Dr. Jekyll comes out of seclusion, throwing dinner parties again and, for two months, he focuses on doing good. Then, in January, Utterson is inexplicably turned away from the doctor's door, told that the doctor has confined himself to the house.

After several fruitless attempts to speak to Dr. Jekyll, Utterson finally goes to see Lanyon. He's shocked to find that Lanyon has quickly withered to a state of near death. Utterson assumes the terror in Lanyon's eyes is simply from the knowledge of his impending death. Lanyon tells the lawyer that.....
