Summary

Chapter 10, from Wren's perspective, is the first chapter of Part Two. She and Sky have been on their own for seven years. She has begun drafting her own map, which is more comprehensive than any other, partly because she has traveled so extensively but also because Sky has learned to fly and relates what he sees from above. Sky is interested in small creatures, especially snails, hermit crabs, and turtles. They have a language that is a combination of human and dragon. One day, Sky tries to fly with Wren on his back but crashes after only a few minutes. By the following year, he is big enough to carry her easily. Wren occasionally visits human settlements, but is careful not to go inside a building or stay too long. Each year, she returns to the Indestructible City where Undauntable meets her, buying...
