Chapter 17 - Chapter 19 Summary

In chapter seventeen, a year passes, and Jakkin's dragon is a full red, and Jakkin knows he is ready to fight. His gold is used to pay for food, which Akki is able to buy. Although Jakkin could steal it from Sarkkhan, he never chooses to do so. One evening, Akki brings Jakkin the papers to sign in order to register his dragon at a local pit in Krakkow. When asked how Jakkin plans to get his dragon there, he admits he was thinking of riding it. After a long lecture from Akki, he hurtfully notes he was thinking of riding in a harness, and not freely.
