Chapters 28-29 Summary

Weeb finds out that Tile and Garcia, racial minorities, have joined the tournament, Weeb is unhappy with the image this will display to potential buyers, so short of throwing them out of the tournament, Weeb has his deacon make sure Tile and Garcia get no television time. The next day is practice day. The fishermen have no luck on the water, but they do not talk about it amongst themselves, afraid of revealing a weakness in their fishing abilities. Therefore no one knows that there were no fish caught that day. Tile and Garcia spend the practice time setting up a brushpile for Queenie and are unknowingly caught by Gault's helicopter pilot. At the barbecue afterwards, Reverend Weeb makes a speech to encourage the fishermen. Afterward, the fishermen are taken to the lodge for the night, while Weeb supervises the stocking...
