Summary

In Chapter 16, Horace is back in Tucson, and he is beginning to feel some doubts about his dream. He is discouraged by his recent boxing losses, and begins to become less disciplined about training and dieting. For the umpteenth time, he internally laments his inability to learn Spanish and his inability to enjoy Mexican food. His favorite music is heavy metal, and he tries to stop listening to it in favor of traditional Mexican music, but he loves heavy metal and is ultimately unable to stop listening to it. Horace momentarily dismisses his troubles by thinking about the self-help book he has read multiple times over the years.
