Chapter 13 Summary

By morning April has a plan to achieve her goal of returning to Norwood. The four hundred dollars from the furniture sale is more than enough for a one-way ticket back to Virginia. Although she would prefer to tell her parents of her plan to return and live with Lorelei, she is afraid they will disapprove and keep her trapped in Grove City. She tells her mother that she is going to spend the weekend with Kim, as Kim's parents are traveling to Miami to visit relatives. She goes to town and uses a payphone to book a ticket for the following afternoon. That evening April has a difficult time eating dinner as her parents are making a concerted effort to get along, which reminds her of happier times. She knows she will.....
