Chapter 2 Summary

Lorelei takes April from school, telling her that her mother, Liz, asked her to so but with no explanation. When they arrive at the Corrigan home, Bram announces they're going on a "mini-vay," the family term for a mini vacation. Uncle Max, George's best friend and an FBI agent, is at the house. Max tells them that someone attempted to shoot George in court and, for the family's safety, they must go into hiding until the verdict is given. They pack their bags and Lorelei agrees to take Porky, the family dog, to a kennel. Max tells the Corrigans that while they are in hiding, they are to make absolutely no phone calls or they could be traced. As they leave in Max's car, April takes a last look at her home through.....
