Part 1, Chapter 19 Summary

Sancho and Quixote chat as they continue their journey. Suddenly, they are scared by a large amount of moving lights coming toward them, and Sancho fears it is ghosts. After watching for a while, they can see approximately twenty people clothed in white, riding on horseback and carrying torches, followed by a hearse and six people in black. Quixote accosts them and demands to know where they are going and what they are doing. Grabbing a mule, he so startles the animal that the rider is thrown to the ground, causing another of the riders to yell at him. Quixote then attacks the party, and they scatter in haste as none of them are armed. Sancho witnesses this and deems his master very brave and strong indeed, to overcome so many.....
