Joseph D. Pistone

Agent Joseph Pistone is the main character of this novel. In 1976, FBI agent Pistone leaves the life he has known as an agent to begin his new life as Don Brasco, jewel thief. He spends six years of his life undercover inside the Mafia world to help bring to justice several heads of the Mafia families. Agent Pistone's undercover role as Donnie Brasco fools even the top bosses of the New York Mafia.

The operation starts out as a six month fencing operation, but Pistone realizes this is bigger than fencing. The operation turns into a six year sting that will bring to justice some of the heads of the biggest crime families in New York, Florida and Milwaukee.
