Act 2 Part 2 Summary

Rank arrives, and Nora notices immediately there's something wrong with him. He confesses to her that his suspicions have been confirmed and that he's dying. She protests that it's not possible, but he tells her that all his tests have confirmed it. He's got one last test to perform and when it's done he'll know how much time he's got left. He and Nora comment on how his illness was passed down from his father, something that Nora attributes to bad food and Rank attributes to his father's "amusements" as a young soldier. Rank tells her that when he's started his final deterioration, he'll stop coming to visit but will send her a card with a black cross on it so she'll know. She protests that neither she nor Torvald will.....
