Act 5, Scene 2 Summary

Faustus is talking with the Scholars again, but the Scholars see that their friend is troubled. Finally, Faustus tells them that he is going to hell and he is going tonight. However, the Scholars are not convinced and they try to talk Faustus into praying and talking to God. Of course, Faustus refuses because he has already turned away from God several times and he does not think he can be forgiven.

As they continue their discussion, Faustus finally tells the Scholars of his deal with the devil. The Scholars are, of course, frightened for Faustus and they promise to stay with him through the night. However, Faustus tells them to stay away and pray for him in another room where they will be safe.

The Scholars heed Faustus's words and they leave.....
