Summary

In Chapter 13, Paige asked Mykia if she could sell her tomatoes at her farmers’ market stand after they ripen. Mykia apologetically denied Paige’s request. Paige recalled learning how to make salsa from Jesse’s mother. Mykia told her friend that she could sell some of her salsa that at Mykia’s stall. Paige promised to learn how to can properly.

Paige told Mykia about her struggles at work. She mentioned the comfort she used to receive from her husband, and Mykia expressed surprise at Paige’s usage of the “past tense” (107).
