Greg

Greg Heffley is the main character and narrator of the novel “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth.” Greg is the son of Frank and Susan, is the younger brother of Rodrick, and the older brother of Manny. He is also the grandson of Grandpa, and the great-grandson of Gammie. Greg, who seems to be about eleven or so, begins the school year without a best friend, for he and his best friend Rowley have had a friendship-ending fight. Greg is primarily concerned with finding a new best friend and being popular when the novel begins –both signs of Greg’s getting older and heading into adolescence.

The novel comprises many changes that Greg goes through, such as seriously beginning to notice girls and taking on more responsibilities as his mom leaves home more often now to attend classes. Greg, who has been anxious to get older...
