Summary

Greg does his best to continue to be optimistic, hoping to be a groomsman paired with one of Gary’s fiancée Sonja’s cute bridesmaids. Greg’s mom reminds him not to wipe away kisses from relatives because it is rude. Among his relatives present are Great Uncle Arthur, who makes strange sounds; Cousin Terrance, who looked exactly like Greg as a child; Uncle Charlie, who always has candy; and Sonja, who is clearly crazy about Gary. Gary hates staying at Gammies, because he always has to share a room with all the other single men. He ends up spending the night in the bathtub instead. While Greg loves Gammie, everything in Gammie’s house is old-–including the candy she keeps, which Greg ate the previous year and got sick from.
