Greg Heffley, a.k.a. Wimpy Kid

Greg Heffley, the Wimpy Kid, is a junior high student who maintains a humorous diary of the many small adventures that occur to him at home and at school. Greg is the first-person narrator of the novel, and the novel is formatted to appear to be his diary. The book's font mimics handwriting, and there are many illustrations. While Greg is not incredibly popular, or attractive to girls at his school, he does demonstrate a repeated ability to remain calm and even-keel across many different scenarios.

Greg is not an exceptional student. The reader learns this in the first sequence of the book when Greg completely forgets about a school project he had been given months to complete.
