Summary

The novel jumps from January to a Wednesday in February. Greg wakes up to discover that it has been snowing. It has not been snowing enough to have a snow day. Greg is actually glad about this, because if there are too many snow days in the year, they have to make them up during the time when it should be summer. As Greg prepares to get ready for school, he cannot find one of his gloves. He uses a puppet that he had played with from early in his childhood, named Mr. Morsels, as a replacement.
