Summary

Rodrick, who is sleeping, doesn’t even realize the basement has flooded. He wakes up and helps his mom, Greg, and Manny to use sand pails to bail water out of the basement. Rodrick will have to share Greg’s room for the night. Rodrick brings along his drum set, dirty clothes, and band posters. Food in the house is also beginning to run low by Monday. The power flashes and then goes out. Greg and his family huddle together under a blanket on the couch in the living room to stay warm. Rowley swings by to visit on Christmas Eve, wondering why the electricity is off. Everyone else has power, he explains. Greg checks the fuse box, and discovers that Manny has turned off the electricity in the house – except in his own bedroom.
