Chapter 20 Summary

Harry and Hutter are taken prisoner. Harry is tied up and left on a platform in front of the castle. Chingachgook and Wah-ta-Wah watch from the ark, but are unable to help. They try but are unsuccessful at contacting Judith and Hetty, who are floating in a separate canoe in the center of the lake.

Chingachgook and Wah-ta-Wah steer the ark close enough to the platform to throw a rope to Harry, who catches it and is dragged behind the ark as they make another escape. Chingachgook and Wah-ta-Wah manage to drag Harry on board the ark. The Iroquois give up pursuit of the ark and go after the girls in the canoe. Judith and Hetty paddle to escape.
