Part One, The Pilottown, Chapters 6-10 Summary

The President arrives at the Eagle, the Presidential yacht, moments after the final security checks have concluded. Joining him are Senator Marcus Larimer and Congressman Alan Moran, his two biggest opponents to his Russian aid bill. The President has invited them on this cruise with the hope that he will be able to convince them to back his bill rather than vote it down. At the last minute, Vice President Vince Margolin joins the cruise. The President is surprised since he did not invite the Vice President and has no idea why he claims to have gotten an invitation. The Secret Service is also upset by this change in plans because now the three men in succession to the Presidency are on board the yacht with the President. All Lucas and his team can do, however, is keep security as tight as possible.
