Chapters 23-25 Summary

Chapter 23

It is Bug's Christmas pageant. She is wearing the Sally Ride costume that was mainly created by Maria. Sam's girlfriend Judy had wanted Bug to be Betsy Ross, but she wanted to be Sally Ride the first American woman in space. Johnny and Maria had supported her decision, and now is the big day. When Johnny and Maria step outside of the auditorium for a smoke, they run into Ben. It is a bit awkward. Johnny thanks Ben for having helped him, and acknowledges it must have been tough for Ben to turn in his friend.

Later, Johnny goes to the record store, where Lucas gives him a Christmas present. It is the new Blondie single. The name of the song is Maria.
