Chapters 25-28 Summary

In chapter 25, Tempe is about to read through the autopsy report on the one woman found at Murtry Island when Kathryn arrives. Kathryn tells Tempe that Heidi, the mother of the murdered twins, was a member of the commune who came to them with a young man she knew before. As part of the commune's beliefs, Heidi was to mate with another man in the commune, but she became pregnant with her boyfriend's baby instead. Heidi ran away when she realized how angry Dom and his fellow leaders were with her. Kathryn also tells Tempe that she overheard an argument between El and Jennifer Cannon, one of the victims from Murtry, and later Jennifer disappeared along with a friend of hers named Anne or Alice.
