The Mirror Houses

Sweet Pea's parents live in almost identical houses on the same block which are symbolic of their effort to keep Sweet Pea's life as normal as possible while they share custody. There is one house on each side of Miss Flora Mae's house.

The Letter from the Bank

Andre receives a letter from a bank in Connecticut regarding a business loan, and this symbolizes his plans for the future, which Sweet Pea sees as a threat to their relationship.

The Brooch

Miss Flora Mae gives Sweet Pea a brooch that symbolizes her changing attitude about Sweet Pea's nickname.
