Summary

The entrance to the Cafe was destroyed, and glass littered the street. A crowd was gathered outside the nightclub, so Roy and Emmy had to force their way through. They used their firehouse credentials to join rescue efforts. They saw injured people stumbling out of the building, and Emmy panicked when she saw a woman being carried out. She wondered if Bunty were hurt as badly. A man grabbed Emmy’s arm and called her name. It was Mr. Collins, who had been on volunteer fire watch at a friend’s nearby restaurant. An air-raid warden tried to usher Emmy out of the building. Mr. Collins, knowing why she was there, lied on her behalf, saying she was his wife and a nurse.
