Summary

The novel returns to the flight. Benjamin thinks about his grandmother, who raised him since Benjamin’s parents were homeless and unstable. When his grandmother attained him a full scholarship to a military school, Benjamin felt angry and betrayed, as he wanted to remain with her. Edward has a brief interaction with Benjamin on the plane, and they tell each other some basic information about themselves. Linda and Florida continue to develop a friendly rapport. Mark asks Veronica on a date, and she accepts. Jordan is trying to read a book, but he feels himself distracted by thoughts of his now ex-girlfriend Mahira, for whom he still has feelings.
