Chapters 25 - 36 Summary

In Chapter 25, the man in the fedora and his partner hold Myron and Esperanza at gunpoint in an abandoned alley. Just as the man wearing the fedora is about to shoot Myron, a shot blows off the top half of the man's head. A few seconds later, the man with the mustache is also killed. Win steps out of the shadows holding a .44 caliber pistol in his hand and "just the hint of a smile on his face" (pg. 183.)

In Chapter 26, Paul Duncan hears a call over his police scanner calling nearby units to the scene of a crime. Duncan wonders how Myron came to be in possession of the picture of Kathy Culver. Duncan is familiar with Myron and Win's past involvement with the FBI. Duncan also knows about the messages exchanged by Jessica Culver and Nancy Serat.
