36 Summary

At school, Camelia talks to Debbie Marcus. Her parents have called the police and her parents have consulted a lawyer. According to one of Debbie's friends, Ben was sitting outside her house, watching. The police have told Debbie's parents that something would have to happen for them to get involved. Debbie tells Camelia to be careful. She hands Camelia a note that was taped to her locker. The note reads, "You're next!"

Additionally, the sign over the school's mascot has been changed to read "Freetown High, Home of the Convicted Murderer".

36 Analysis

Although Ben seems convincing, mounting evidence suggests that he is not someone to be trusted. Debbie Marcus makes the case, believing that Ben is following her, and is leaving her horrifying notes. The police have even gotten involved. The mystery around Ben has become something of a circus, and had descended into chaos...
