Summary

In pages 191 - 246 of Part III, "Ithaca," worrying about her dad, Alexandra remembers all the nights he drank too much. On the phone, she asks her sister to talk to him.

Alexandra picks up the reporter's call. He says he knows she works for Facebook, pressing her for information. Alexandra responds coldly. When she tells J she wants to quit the job, he is skeptical.

Alexandra continues reading about Yamei Kin. One piece says that when she "wearied" of her husband, "she declared herself a new woman and left him" (194).

On the phone, her dad presses her to learn about her history.

Sometimes when Alexandra is with J, everything feels okay. She wants to believe she and Yamei Kin "are not in the same situation" (196).
