Chapters 7-8 Summary

Chapter 7. Sorcha sits in the boat and allows it to take her where it will. When she is caught in a storm, Sorcha remains in the boat, unable to steer because of the loss of her paddles. As Sorcha's boat passes a bend in the land a couple of men spot her. One man jumps into the water to rescue her. Sorcha thinks he wants to hurt her, so she falls into the river, content to drown. The man manages to save her despite herself.

Back at their camp, the man manages to convince her to change into dry clothes. However, Sorcha remains frightened of the man and his two companions, especially when she realizes they are Britons. It is an uneasy night, but Sorcha sleeps some before waking from a nightmare. The man who saved her, a man called Red...
