Chapters 3-4 Summary

Chapter 3. Sorcha continues to treat Simon for several weeks, treating his physical wounds and telling him tales to help him through the nightmares that are a result of his mental wounds. A short time later, Father Brien leaves Sorcha and Simon alone to go get supplies in the village. On that day, Sorcha's brothers come for her. Simon begs Sorcha not to go.

Sorcha returns home to discover that her father has brought home a woman he intends to wed. Lady Oonagh is a beautiful woman, much younger than Colum, who appears on the surface to be quite devoted to Colum. Sorcha and her brothers are uneasy around the lady Oonagh. Strange things happen in her presence.
