Summary

Chapter 17, Dash

Things are awkward between Dash and Lily until the dog suddenly runs off, causing Lily to fall over. Dash goes after the dog only to run into the child whose eye he reportedly assaulted. As Dash is cornered by a group of mothers, Lily rushes in to save a falling baby and is suddenly accused of trying to steal the baby. The police arrive and take Lily and Dash to the police station. As they wait to learn their fate, Lily and Dash finally begin to talk and learn a great deal more about one another. The cops let them go after reviewing the video evidence. Lily is considered a hero by half the city and a criminal by the other. As he leaves, Dash realizes Lily had slipped the notebook into his pocket.
