Summary

Chapter 13, Dash

Dash is very disappointed to have found Lily and to realize she is a drunk. However, he decides to take her home since Edgar clearly does not care. All the way to her aunt’s, Lily apologizes to Dash. At the apartment, Dash is forced to carry her inside because she is too drunk to walk. Dash leaves the notebook on a dresser and tells Ida that she should tell Lily not to take the whole thing so seriously. Edgar calls Dash to check on Lily. Dash subtly chastises him for his behavior before refusing an invitation to go back to the bar. Dash goes to the bar where Sofia is staying and buys several postcards on which he writes notes to Lily, or his idea of Lily.
