The Desire for Power

Many people want power and the quest is often brutal with people willing to do anything to reach those goals. The characters of this novel are all dragons, but some of them are caught up in their desire to become more powerful, becoming ruthless in their determination to reach those goals. The use of animus magic, even though it comes with a dire warning, is a factor in some of these goals. Other characters go to extreme lengths to hold onto the power they have.

This world is divided into seven recognized kingdoms each with a matriarchal government. The queens of two of these kingdoms are major characters in the events of this novel.
