chapter 6 Summary

It's Jesse that appears in Doc's room. When Suze swings at him with the tool, he demands to know what's going on. She finally tells him the whole story and it makes Jesse laugh. She leaves out the part about Maria and her knives, but slips up when she gets angry with Jesse for laughing. After hearing about Maria and her knife, Jesse clutches Suze in his arms. Jesse realizes that Suze knows that he was murdered instead of just going missing on the way to his wedding.

Jesse tells her that the fact that his body hasn't been found is not the reason he's been hanging around. Suze starts to cry again. Jesse promises her that he isn't going anywhere, even if they do find his body. He convinces Suze to go back to her room and sits up reading to keep...
