Chapters 36-40 Summary

In Chapter Thirty-Six, no one is able to find Jeremy. Emily arrives and wonders if she is still being punished for the one night with Myron before the wedding. Myron tells her he doesn't think so, but that maybe there is a price to pay for something as good as Jeremy. Greg is rushed to the hospital in critical condition. No one can say if he will survive.

In Chapter Thirty-Seven, Myron and Win watch as Clara meets with Stan and Edwin Gibbs. Win wants time alone with the Gibbs' but Eric Ford refuses. Clara meets with them and says that Edwin wants a deal. In exchange for no death penalty he will take them to Jeremy and donate his marrow. Ford balks but Myron pushes him to agree. Clara points out that the deal stands whether the boy is dead...
