Giomanach's journal entry from October 2000 describes his little sister's initiation. Giomanach's family is very close. He regrets that his parents couldn't be there. He wonders if they are alive, but he can't feel their energy. Giomanach met Selene and Cal at a coven meeting. They seemed hostile towards him, but he understands considering the circumstances of Giomanach's father abandoning them. Giomanach also notices that Selene and Cal seem much caught up in the traditional Woodbane.

Morgan is very disturbed by learning that Cal lied to her about being Woodbane. She also wonders what he meant by being a 'traditional' Woodbane. It is Thanksgiving and Morgan makes a small Thanksgiving altar outside in the woods. Suddenly she feels someone. She is sure that it's Hunter, but realizes that it must be Sky. She is upset at the idea...
