Ty, Akai

Ty is the main character of the book. He is a fifteen-year-old boy who lives under the ocean with his parents and his little sister Zoe. He loves his subsea life and enjoys exploring the ocean. He collects artifacts that he finds on the seafloor, which come from ancient civilizations. He possesses the pioneering spirit that many of the subsea settlers have. He is brave and determined, and values his independence. He understands the dangers of the ocean, but is sensible about them and can look after himself. He looks forward to being able to claim land of his own and has already measured out the area he wants to build his home on.
