Chapters 28, 29 and Epilogue Summary

The outlaws step out of the Specter to meet Shade. Eel, who can create an electromagnetic pulse with his hand, destroys the viewphone and the elevator controls. Gemma asks again if she can come with Shade but he tells her no. He is deliberately harsh with her to make her want to stay behind. Ty asks him for a favor for saving his life, and tells him not to attack any more settlers or homesteads. Shade agrees. Shade also signs Gemma's emancipation form, and Ty tells her that she can live with his family. The outlaws get back in the Specter and prepare to leave.
