Summary

At the beginning of Book 5, Chapter 1, Daphne packed for her and Haris’ trip across the border. Amir asked Haris for the password for Saied’s phone, and Haris gave it to him. Amir criticized the Daesh and pleaded with Daphne to not cross with them. Daphne responded that it did not matter who they crossed with. Since the Free Army’s actions led to the death of Kifa, to her perspective both the Daesh and the Free Army were the same, and neither the Daesh nor the Free Army were good.

Next, Daphne purchase baklava as a gift for Athid for helping them cross. Then she, Amir, and Haris went to Marty’s mansion to get the five thousand dollars from him. He flirted with Daphne against her desires and questioned the ethics of how the money would go to the Daesh...
