Chapter 14 Summary

The next night, Father and Daniel wait outside as Karl instructed. Finally, someone comes for them and leads them to where a gas chamber is being built. They are given tools and a flashlight and instructed to take everything apart that they can.

At work the next day, Karl and Daniel discuss the gas chamber. Karl tells Daniel that most of the workers are willing to do whatever is necessary to prevent it from being built. During the day, the workers appear to be working hard, but in fact, they are working very slowly. Daniel asks Karl if he has a radio, and one night, the man invites Daniel to listen.

It feels like forever since Daniel was able to listen to a radio. He can't believe it was only a few months ago that.....
