Chapters 8-10 Summary

Chapter 8. Killashandra wakes with Lanzecki the next morning and they discuss the guild and its future. Lanzecki tells Killashandra that he once sang crystal. The next morning, Lanzecki introduces Killashandra to Moksoon, her shepherd. Moksoon and Killashandra both pledge to the shepherd arrangement and promise not to jump one another's claims. Moksoon, however, has a memory problem and continuously forgets who Killashandra is as they travel to his claim. However, when Killashandra figures out how to keep their arrangement in the forefront of his mind, she learns a great deal from his work. The next morning, however, Killashandra decides to leave before Moksoon wakes and tries to kill her.

Chapter 9. Killashandra goes to the coordinates of the area where she thinks Keborgon's claim is and finds several claims marked with paint. One has fresh paint on it and Killashandra starts to...
