Part 2: Chapters 11-12 Summary

In Chapter 11, adult Katie looks back on the past and wonders how things might have turned out differently if someone had done something about Calvin Pye. This takes Katie back into the past and she recalls a day in October when Miss Carrington walked home with her to speak with Luke. By then the house is a mess with Luke barely keeping up with the basic chores. Katie takes Bo into the house and feeds her a snack while the adults talk. Matt comes home shortly as Miss Carrington is leaving. Matt wants to know what she wanted and learns that she is worried about Katie's lack of participation in class.
