Part 2: Chapters 8-10 Summary

In Chapter 8, Katie has trouble sleeping after receiving Simon's invitation. The following day, Katie is working on grading lab reports when Daniel arrives for a planned outing. Daniel finds the picture of Simon that came with the invitation, leaving Katie to wonder all day if he found the invitation as well. Daniel had introduced Katie to his family from the beginning of their relationship, always open with her about everything even though his parents are often difficult to get along with. Katie recalls a argument that she and Daniel had in which he accused her of not being serious about their relationship because of her reluctance to share her past with him.
