A normal day at home turns into a nightmare for Colleen. She enters the kitchen to make tea and soda bread. When she returns, her mother and Sister Katherine are no longer there. Through her window Colleen sees Father Flannery approach her home. She does not want to be around him so she flees to the barn. Inside the barn she crouches in a rear facing stall to hide.
