Book Two: Chapters 80-89 Summary

At their Italian hiding spot, Father Rosetti and Kathleen pray together for safety. Father Rosetti prays to abolish Satan in the world and Kathleen prays for the safe delivery of her baby. Kathleen reflects on how violent the world has become and how diseases seem rampant. Father Rosetti begins a sacred ritual which calls out the Devil. He begins tentatively because he knows the voice will return, possibly bringing with it pain and suffering. Kathleen sees visions of the Devil and his legions. The vision is similar to the nightmares she has experienced. The Devil wishes to claim the child and the voice within her head yells at her. Kathleen fights away the Devil, his visions and his voice.

Anne and Justin are worried for the girls' safety. They have not.....
