Book Two: Chapters 60-69 Summary

Kathleen's situation is disturbing to Jamie. Although he tells everyone he had sex with Kathleen, he knows he didn't. His closest friends also know that he didn't have sex with her because they were present that night. They are equally at fault for what happened to Kathleen, although she still can't remember the details. Jamie has gathered at a bar with his friends. They are eager to discuss the topic of Kathleen and her pregnancy, but Jamie refuses to talk about it. He becomes agitated following his friends' harassment. He drinks a few illegal beers courtesy of his fake identification and slides in behind the wheel of his car. Although he has no particular destination, he drives back to Sachuset Point. On the way there he experiences a sense of tunnel.....
