pgs. 441-474 Summary

Koffler is with Reeves and his men. They have to kill all of the Japanese so none of them can get through to make a report. They kill the entire patrol of eight and then return to the village. While Steve bothers, Reeves attends to Joe's broken arm.

In Melbourne, Pickering sends a letter to Knox, most of which is about the Battle of Midway. He requests that Banning be added to the Magic messages list since he might be able to provide some insightful analysis. Pickering says that MacArthur should be kept informed of naval actions while they are taking place. The way it is, he learns about them from intercepts of Japanese messages.
