pp, 148-180 Summary and Analysis

The horrors begin — Wilson is upset because he is aged 42 and unemployed. He does yoga exercises to feel love for everyone, in order to control his fears. Wilson is again contacted by Kerry Thornley. Thornley has been a target of US Attorney Jim Garrison's investigation into the assassination of President John Kennedy. In a change of heart by 1975, Thornley suspects that he could have been brainwashed to be an unwitting part of the assassination plot. Thornley fears that he acted as a false lead in the investigation. Thornley served in the Marines with Lee Harvey Oswald, and looks like him. Thornley hears that a similar false lead was created in the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King. Shortly after Thornley comes out with these theories, he is robbed and pistol-whipped.
