Summary

In Chapter 24,, Nick told Frances he had confessed to Melissa that he was having an affair with Frances, and he wanted to continue seeing her. Frances apologized for not telling Nick about her upcoming ultrasound, because she did not want him to pity her. In her letter to Frances, Melissa said: She could not ask Nick to leave Frances, since she had had affairs herself. Nick had been treated for depression, and he had been in psychiatric treatment. Melissa believed Nick's affair made him healthier, and she wanted him to stay happy, despite her own jealousy. She wanted Frances to know that, in her opinion, Nick was pathologically submissive. She invited Frances and Bobbi for dinner. Frances accepted the invitation, via email.
