Summary

The next morning, Keiko arrives at work to find a strange man storming through the shop, bullying the other customers; Keiko follows procedure and helps diffuse the conflict. The manager and Mrs. Izumi discuss how useless Shiraha seems to be at his job and refer to him as a “burden on society” (62). On the other hand, Manager #8 compliments Keiko for being a great employee. Shiraha arrives late to his shift and is reprimanded for using his phone on the job. He tells Keiko that he hates the job; he only took the job because he is marriage hunting, but none of the women at the store are worthy. On Monday, Keiko arrives at work to discover Shiraha has been fired because he was deemed a pervert for stalking the female staff and customers (71).
